Pens comback from 3-0 deficit - Win series 4-2

Thank you Max Talbot

This game was heading towards a similar fate as Thursdays 3-0 score.

The Pens were down 3-0, and Biron had something like a 120 minute shutout streak going....

...cue Talbot taking on the much larger (goon) Carcillo
Max took a bit of a beating, but o man did it wake up his team.

Pittsburgh scored 3 quick goals to tie the game going into the 3rd period with all the momentum.

Gonchar quickly put them ahead in the third with a laser beam to the top corner -the Flyers, who have been excellent at getting in the shooting lane all series, inexplicably cleared the lane like a parting of the red sea.

This gave the Pens a 4-3 lead with about 18 minutes to play. The Flyers just couldn't seem to get it going, and had trouble even coming out of their own end.

When they did actually make it into the Pens zone, they actually got some good scoring chances - hitting the crossbar once, and Fleury making a few great saves.

Good to be lucky, lucky to be good

I'd also like to mention Rob Scuderi, who blocked a shot in the 3rd period, and injured his hand, came back a few shifts later to get his stick on a puck to stop Mike Richards from shooting into a open net.

Crosby capped the victory off with an impressive empty netter.

Game over

Everyone in the media has been talking about how the Flyers should have won more games in this series - to which I ask what series were you watching...?

The Pens won this series because they were the better team - no question about that.

The Flyers put up a good fight, as everyone knew they would, but when you have to rely on Carcillo and Asham to be your scorers and better players you will not win in the NHL playoffs.

Pittsburgh's best players far outplayed Philly's best players, and Marc-Andre Fleury out performed Marty Biron to nobody's surprise.

Now we play the waiting game to see who the next opponent is

Congrats on a job well done boys

4 down, 12 to go

GO PENS
